FILIPPO FAVARO — PRODUCT DESIGNER FOR INDUSTRY · VENICE, IT
Eight years designing interfaces for CNC machines, production lines, and the people who run them — where a confusing screen means a stopped line, and design stops being decoration. I help machinery, IoT, and software teams get it right: UX audits, HMI design, design systems. And I build what I design.
Four projects. Real constraints, real users, real stakes — from a platform running in 40+ countries to a live concept built end-to-end.
A monitoring-and-control platform for a CNC machining plant, designed and built end-to-end — and live. One system, three users: the operator at the machine, the manager over the floor, and the service team behind both.

Rebuilt SCM Group’s industrial IoT platform from a wall of raw numbers into a tool woodworking professionals actually run their shops with — then put it in their pocket. Deployed across 40+ countries.

PRODUCT DESIGNER — INDUSTRY
I design interfaces for work that matters.
I’ve spent eight years in industrial settings — places where a confusing screen isn’t an annoyance, it’s a stopped production line. Someone misreads a value, a workflow stalls, a decision gets delayed.
Most of my work is fixing exactly that: taking dense, technical interfaces and making them clear, reliable, and honest about what’s happening underneath. Not through grand redesign visions, but by sitting next to the people who use them — on factory floors, in service departments — until I understand what they actually need.
What I’ve learned: design problems are rarely just design problems. They’re tangled in how teams communicate, how processes evolved, what got inherited and never questioned. I like working in that mess. I’m good at it.
Every engagement runs the same operations. The process is part of the solution.
OP 10
Before I suggest anything, I learn the environment, the people, and the state of the art. Research before assumptions.
OP 20
The stated issue is rarely the actual problem. I find the root — in the workflow, or a decision made two years ago and never revisited.
OP 30
Iterations tested with real people. I advocate for the user in every review, including when it’s uncomfortable. The screen comes last.
OP 40
I don’t disappear after handoff. Production-ready specs, documentation, and presence during development to catch what drawings miss.
Built end-to-end when the only brief is my own curiosity.
